Finally the PRA-results for Tigergutt is ready, and we were very lucky again! He is N/N like all our other cats we have tested    It is a priviledge that all our cats are PRA N/N and it feels like we have won in the lottery. Not every catbreeder/owner is as lucky as us.

Lion-O`s date is cancelled, due to personal matters for the owner of the female. It is a pitty, but life makes some twist and turns sometimes and we just have to ride along with them.

We have changed some of our plans, and Puma is going to meet GIC S*Coral Reef´s Joker (osh d 03 24 var) in his new home. Puma´s mating with Lion-O will be postponed to the winter 2012. Also Bruno has got some excitement in front of him, he is going to meet a lovely siamese lady this fall.

After we have finished our holiday in Turkey, Finn-Ove will travel to Sweden to pick up our new girl. She is sooo beautiful and we are totally in love with her! Her name is Qrowntwig Rumor and she is a siamese n21. She will be a great contribution to improve the type of our longhair breeding.  Thank you so much Maria for trusting us with this beauty!

with your very first litter! Thursday 16th of June Doc gave birth to 7 kittens    She is a wonderful mam and do not like it when the twolegged wants to hold one of them   We are looking forward to follow the kittens development, and we are soo curious about their names!

Lion-O has got a date, and later this summer a beautiful girl will move in with him for a while. He is not ready yet, but I do not think that it will be a long time until he can do what a fertile boy are supposed to do   And after this girl our Puma is next in line. I am really longing for their kittens, can hardly wait any longer!

Sweet little Tigergutt is growing fast and he is quite clever in climbing and jumping, and running. But he does not always remember that the floor is slippery, so often he falls and surfs on the floor

We have a webmaster that has designet our website and she has also been doing all the updates. But I want to do them myself, and finally I have got Dreamweaver on my PC. This last week I have tried to change and update our website, and some of it went well, other things did not turn out as I wanted them to. My excuse is that I do not know anything about HTML, CSS and other codes, and I have never seen or used a program like Dreaweaver. So it is a lot to get a grip on, and so far I have not managed to do all that I wanted to. But I do think that in time this will be better! Our webmaster Caroline will still be there for me for some months and knowing that makes it easier to try things I never done before. It´s quite challenging and I´m happy as a child on christmas eve for every little thing I manage to do

Our little Tigergutt is doing fine and he is growing fast! Today he is 5 weeks and 4 days and he weighs 673 grams! He has started to use the litterboxes, but he do not want to try any solid food at all. Mams milk is more than enough for him. We will not force him to eat, we just give the cats wet food as usual and place the plates near him so he is able to see that the others are eating. At the end he has to be so curious that he tries to test this strange thing - we hope for.

In July Tao will move to her new home, and her slaves on two legs are a veterinarian and an animal-nurse. In addition to those on two legs, she will live together with a bengal boy and a domestic cat.

In August Wen will move to her new home, and then we have only 6 cats at home, 4 of them males.....  Cheetara is not our cat now, her foster"parents" owns her. And all this means that we have the opportunity to keep a girl from one or 2 of our planned matings.

We have made plans for matings for the year to come, but as long as we are dealing with live animals this plans can suddenly change. The first planned mating is between Puma and Lion-O and it will take place as soon as he is fertile. If he is like his father, we can estimate the mating to happen in August/September. Time will show   This is the only mating we have planned for Lion-O and he will most certain be a happy neuter after his kittens are born - when they are born

This summer we would really try to make the large cat-run we have dreamed of since the first time we visited our house before we bougth it. As soon as Finn-Ove´s starting his holidays we have planned to start building. I´m really looking forward to this! I guess both the cats and our dog will appreciate a larger cat-run.

Doc & Joker moved to Milamen´s Cattery earlier this year and now there are kittens on their way! In mid June the litter is expected, and I´m very curious on these kittens. I hope they will be of a nice type with lots of white! And of course - longhaired! I´m counting days!

Prillemann (Bruno) is developing nicely and he´s grown a lot the last month. When Puma called last time he really wanted to help her.....   Lion-O did not care at all.....

Today I have had a photoshoot and my daughter Marie helped me. I took 300 pics and as usual only a few was ok. But some of the pics were so sweet that I do not care if they do not have the best quality. I´ll show them anyway!

Wen, Faffa & Tigergutt. They still spend most of the time together

Nice profile!

Tigergutt 5,5 weeks old. His fur is fantastic! His ears are quite small but wll placed, just like his father´s ears was. Both Vasco and Faffa has dominant eyes but so far we can´t see that on Tigergutt.

Yesterday we got the results of Bruno´s DNA-tests, and we are very happy with them! Bruno has been tested for PRA and if he´s a carrier of dilute and chocolate. And the results shows that he is neither PRA homozygote or PRA heterozygote    His breeder are very happy of this result also, she has been a bit nervous   And I can easily understand her, I have been there too regarding the offsprings from our cats. In addition to this super result, the tests also confirms that Bruno is carrying dilution and chocolate   And that means that Faffa and he has a possibility to have both chocolate, lilac and BLUE pointed offsprings   I just love bluepointed and blue cats!

After testing most of our cats (it is just little Against All Odds that needs to be tested) we have super results! Of 7 tested cats none of them has either the homozygote or the heterozygote PRA-gene! And the statistics for tested oriental cats shows that approx. 40% of this population are either homozygote or heterozygote for PRA. If the results in our cattery was following the same pattern, 3 of our cats should have been either homozygote or heterozygote for PRA. But Lady Luck was in our corner this time   And now we hope for little Against All Odds to follow the same  path

He is a big boy now, almost 540 grams today (at the age of almost 4 weeks). Yesterday he started to climb on the climbing post, and this morning he jumped down to the floor when Finn-Ove sat down to cuddle. The little one is growing fast and he has developed nicely. Now we will try to teach him to eat some food and not only succle on his mum. He also need to learn how to use the litterbox.  But this will come in due time.

Our lovely little Kinderegg - he meets our 3 wishes - now it´s time to find some new ones for him

   Our wonderful bluetabby balinese boy

Av Lisbeth Jacobsen - 18 maj 2011 22:21

Today Faffas and Vascos little boy is 3 weeks old, and he is 451 grams! He is so sweet and charming, tries to playfight with every cat that is visiting his kitten enclosure placed in a corner in our livingroom. This kitten feels like a miracle, his father Vasco and his mother Faffa mated just one time, and Tigergutt (his nickname that means Tigerboy) became a fact. He was the only kitten in this litter and thankfully the delivery went very well both for him and his mother. We hoped for a tabby kitten, and also that wish is fullfilled. I love blue cats, both solid(not agouti) and pointed, and I hoped for this little one to be blue or chocolate. We have had some problems to see which colour he has, but now it looks like we are very lucky and have a bluetabby pointed balinese boy! Tabby is the only pattern I like, not classic tabby, spotted and so on.

We have finally made a decision regarding Lion-O - he will stay! We will not use him for more than 1 or maybe 2 litters, but we hope that his offspring will be nice. Puma and Lion-O will be the parents of our next litter, if everything goes as planned.

Wen and I went to the vets today, and Wen was neutered. She will move to her new home some time this summer. The date is not fixed yet, but we will wait for Finn-Oves holiday to bring her to Oslo.

Finally this afternoon Faffa gave birth to a big and strong boy! He is born on day 66 and for many breeders that is not a long pregnancy. But for us this last week have been long, and I have not had many hours of sleep. We have sceduled time for a c-section tomorrow, because it is better to do this as a planned operation than an emergency c-section. Lyckily Faffa fixed it all by herself, and she did a marvellous job! The theme for this litter of one is "One hit wonders" (of course since Faffa and Vasco only mated one time) and the boy has got the name (N)Bekmørtnans Against all odds   The little prince weighed 120 grams at birth, and he is the largest kitten we have had so far! He has found Faffas nipples and Finn-Ove weighed him again an hour ago and then he was 123 grams.

Just after his birth I got a call from Pipstilks mother (Kham Yois owner) and she told me some really bad news. Her ragdoll boy died suddenly a short while ago, and now her other boy was diagozed with cancer. We feel so sad for her and her husband, and we wish there was anything we could do to make this easier for them. But right now we can not help, maybe there will be a opportunity later on - who knows?

Little Bruno is fully integrated in our group of cats, and Muffin allowes him to succle on his stomach - together with Lion-O, Tao and PUMA! She has just finished her heat, but in the middle of her heat she switched between shouting and yelling - and succling on Muffins stomach

At the end of this I will of course include som pics of our new prince

Finally last night the result of the PRA-tests came. We have tested Muffin, Faffa, Wen, Puma and Tarutao and we are happy to tell that they all tested negative for PRA!

The next in line for testing is our new boy S*Feng´s All That I´ve Got AKA Bruno (sia n).

Yesterday I took some cats (and a dog   ) to the vet. Lion-O and Tarutao got their last shots, Bruno and Puma was tested for FIV/FeLV (both negative!) and Faffa was examined and checked with ultrasound. We have been quite sure she was pregnant, but not 100% sure. And she has fooled us a couple of times before so we wanted to know. She has womited some times every day for the last weeks, but she has not looked sick at all. After womiting she could easily eat more    The first time she was pregnant she did not womit at all, and none of our other pregnant girls has done this. So this was totally new for us, and it was good to have her checked. The vet found no reason for her to womit other than the pregnancy. When using the ultrasound we could clearly see one kitten, both his body, his legs and his tale! A tiny little kitten    The vet and I agreed on not looking for other kittens because we wanted to disturb Faffa as little as possible. It´s important that pregnant females do not stress at all, if they do they can in the worst case loose her kittens. This kitten is a one hit wonder from our dear Vasco that died too early. And if there is only one kitten he/she will not go anywhere!

On Thursday last week Finn-Ove and I went by plane to Oslo to pick up our new car. Finally we have a car that suits us and that will make our trips to cat-shows a lot easier!

On Thursday night we visited Kham Yoi in her new home, and she was happy to see us but she had already found her place in her new home. We enjoyed the visit a lot, Kham Yoi´s new "mother" and "father" is really nice people and we are very sure that Kham Yoi will have a wonderful life together with them, Anthea(ragdoll), Stankelbein(sia a var) and the oldest cat in the house, a ragdoll neuter.

The next day we started our road-trip, and our first goal was Malmö to pick up our new boy S*Feng´s All That I´ve Got (sia n). He is a beautiful little chap, and he has the nicest temper ever! Thank you Pia! We continued our trip and after two days we finally came home yesterday night. We were both tired and happy to be home after approx. 2200 km´s on the road. And little Bruno (our new boy´s daily name) was really happy too! We placed him in the cat-room downstairs together with Tao. He is friendly towards her, but she is not so happy to be with him and she hisses to him and beats him with her paw as soon as she has a possibility. Bruno just sits there, blinking at her. In a couple of days they will be great friends and everything will be ok.

We have had a suspicion of Faffa being pregnant, but we have not been sure until last night. There is no doubt, she is definitely pregnant! And we are so happy about this because the father of the litter is Vasco, our dear beautiful boy that died so tragic a short while ago. Now we cross our fingers that everything will be ok with Faffa and her kittens, it would be a fantastic gift to have kittens after dear Vasco. On 21st of April Faffa is on her day 63 in her pregnancy, and we can wait for the kittens to arrive! Faffa´s first litter was born on day 64, maybe this litter will be as well?

After a long and difficult time we now feel that we are back on track again and we are optimistic about the future! Thank you all for your support both on FB, comments to our blog,e-mails and on the forum Siames i Fokus. Your support has made it possible to start to look forward much earlier than we would have managed without support.

I will end this post on our blog with some pics of Bruno
