She is now living together with a balinese boy and to ragdolls, one of them are at the same age as Kham Yoi. I guess they will have lot of fun together in the future! And to Kham Yoi´s new mother - we wish you the best of luck!

Tomorrow Cheetara and Wen are moving to a friend of ours, only 15 minutes away. They are included in our breedingprogram for now, the future will show if we want to have litters after them. When the 2 girls have left our home, we only have 6 cats/kittens left, and in April we have plans for Lion-O. If everything goes as planned (does it ever?!) he will move abroad to a breeder and hopefully give some beautiful kittens with an outstanding temper.

The day after tomorrow Finn-Ove and I are going by plane to Oslo to pick up our new car. It´s new for us, but it has reached a considerable age    And after picking the car up, we are going on a real roadtrip! And first of all we are going to the south of Sweden to pick up our new sealpointed siamese boy

Last night I got a message from the family that had picked up Tarutao and Cheetara last Sunday. The girls did not fit in with the family, they were very shy and hide all the time except at night when the family had gone in bed. Ten the girls started playing    They did not use the litter box, they ust used the floor under the sofa and under the closets in the kitchen. The family thought they were so scared that they did not dare to go on it. Both the family and we agreed on that the best for the girls would be if they came home again. This afternoon we picked up the girls and we took them out of the cage for a while. Both of them got out of the cage and sniffed at our faces before starting to kiss us. They kissed and kissed and purred like machines. When we came home they walked straight out of the cage and into the first litterbox they saw    After that they greeted the other cats in the house, before trying to succle on daddy. I guess they are ment to be here    We have not received any real and honest requests on the kittens, so we have decided to keep them ourself. Except Lion-O, he´s moving abroad in April if everything goes as planned. So now we have a lot of females and no male to use on them   Luckily the youngest ones are much to young to have a litter yet, but it is not long before Puma is ready. I do not have a clue what to do about that.

We are still grieving over the loss of Vasco and Kikki of course. It will take a while to get over those tragedies. But we have to pull ourselves together and look forward, no mather how hard it is.

We have a hard week behind us, because we lost both Vasco and Kikki, Vasco on Thursday and Kikki on Friday.

Today Narani, Jagara, Ko Tarutao and Cheetara moved to their new homes and we wish them the best in the future!

In the beginning of December we had 7 kittens, 2 youngsters and 9 grown ups. Now we have 2 kittens (one will leave in April), 1 youngster and 3 grown ups. Things have changed!

Yesterday Mischa, Doc and Joker moved to their new homes. Finn-Ove followed them to Oslo Airport Gardermoen, where their new owners came and picked them up. It was sad and quite hard to let them go, especially Joker. He has been my baby and every time I sat in my chair, Joker came and wanted to lay close to me. When he falled asleep his paws trampled on my side. I have some scars after his paws there    The house feels so quiet today, no one is running up and down the stairs, no one is calling for me to let them out. This is the first time I feel this way when a cat moves, and it´s quite sad to think about the fact that Joker will never sit on the bookshelf beside our bedroom door, talking to us and telling us to get up because he wants to be close. But we are sure we have made the right decision, the 3 cats will have good homes with their new owners. I have already got a mail from Mischas new owner, and she could tell me that Mischa was doing fine and she has used the night to check out her new home. Her new companion, Lukas, did not like the fact that he has to share his slaves with this girl, and he hissed at her. He is not impressed about this change in his life, and he just want that ugly girl out of his house! And Mischa don´t care at all    But I guess that she will give Lukas a hard time when she decides to tell him who´s in charge

I have talked to Doc & Jokers new "mam" and she told me that Joker was very cuddly and did not want them to go out of the room. Doc is a bit more shy and today she did not need any cuddling at all. I am sure she will change her mind

We are very happy about the cats new homes, and sure they will be spoiled, all 3. Thank you Aina & your partner, Janne & Henning for taking care of our beloved cats! May you all have a long and happy life together, with lots of fun!

The last picture I took of Joker......

Joker discovered that our young girl Puma was in heat before we did, and he mated her. The mating was the reason we discovered her heat, and now we are waiting to see if there will be any kittens. Puma is a bit young to have kittens, but we think it will be ok despite her age. If she is pregnant she will have her babies in week 14/2011. She will be 10 months then and there is no reason to think that this will be of any problem to her at all. Even one of our other girls have mated recently, not with Joker but with Vasco. Vasco has started to spray so he migth be fertile already. Time will show!

And it´s feeling great! To medicate 5 kittens and 10 grown ups twice a day for 28 days it´s quite a challenge    And when several of the grown ups throws up after taking the medicine, well,  after a while that´s frustrating!! But finally the end of it came and I do not know if it´s the cats or Finn-Ove which is the most happy rigth now    Actually we have not totally ended the "party". Three of our cats are leaving for their new homes on Sunday, and the vet told us to go on with the medication on this 3 cats and tell the new owners to medicate for 3-4 days after the moving. Just to be as safe as we can be. But what is 3 compared to 15? Peanuts!

The 3 cats that are moving is Mischa, Doc and Joker. It´s hard to know that in less than a week they do not live with us anymore. Joker has chosen me as his companion, and as soon as I sit down he comes running towards me, jump into my lap purring and lays down close to my body with his head hidden under my rigth arm. He always prefer to be at my right side, he has tried to sleep at my left side but that´s not good enough for him. Every morning he shouts outside my door, and when I go into the library he always sit on one of the shelves beside the door to the sleepingroom. And he is soo happy to see me, every morning! I will for sure miss him a lot, and in one way it is sad to let him go, but I do know we are doing the best for him, for the rest of our cats and for us.

Isn´t he beautiful?

He´s a large boy!

Doc was not happy for the photosession, there was a lot of pictures taken but none of them was ok because Doc hated it all.

Doc & Joker are moving together, and their new owners want to adopt our plans for bicolour longhair. And that makes me happy!

Mischa is moving to a small family with one redpointed siamese boy. And I belive that she would have a great life with this family!

The quality of this pic is really crappy, but it will do for now.

Muffin is doing a great job as a father for his 5 offsprings, he takes really good care of them and if he hear a sound from outside or from the first floor, he talks to the kitten at once and runs to collect them while murmuring. And everyone of the kittens react at once when they hear him talking. He even let them succle on his tummy    He coat on his belly are all wet during the day

Today I found an e-mail in my innbox like I usually do every day. But this mail was a bit different than the other e-mails I use to find there. This was an e-mail from a family who wanted to buy Tarutao, and they have started the process to make their own cattery. They wanted Tarutao as a partner for her balinese male Max, and that sounds like music to my ears   It´s not a pleasent thought that my little girl is moving to another home, but I am confident that she will have a great home there! And I also know that my feelings will change in time and I will be happy to have the honor of making a family as happy as we are when we got new cats. Tarutao will be the first balinese from our breeding that are moving to another cattery, and that is about time I guess

In addition to this e-mail I got an e-mail from a family that wants to give Doc and Joker a home! This is the same family that we have had some contact with a short time ago regarding Doc & Joker. They have read about Herpes and also had a meeting with their veterinarian, and the vet said the same as I do regarding Herpes. 95% of all cats have or have had Herpes, but breeders do not tell about it. But we do! And why shouldn´t we? Of course some people will be frigthened about this and will change their mind about buying a cat from us. But we are sure that we in the long run will benefit of our attitude. And now we have done it already! The family that wants to buy Tarutao is also informed about the herpes, and they did not get scared.

We are very happy that our cats are moving to these homes, and we look forward to cooperate with them!

the medication of our kittens!! Only 7 days left    And Jagara´s right eye is much better already, the scar tissue is almost completely gone

Muffin behaves like a 3 months old kitten, and he is very good at playing with his boy and girls. The Suprelorin-chip is a super invention! Muffin and Joker are the best friends, and the few run-ins they have had is history now. We do not tolerate any cats to take out their anger against eachother, and none of the boys was hurt in the run-ins. Joker is becomming more and more fertile now, and it´s sad to think of him being neutered before he has mated any girl successfully. But that´s life, we will not rehome him without neuter him first. But of course, if the right home appear we will consider to sell him as a fertile male. But we will not sell him fertile as a pet.

Ellie jumps up on the dining-table when we give the cats their medication, and she does not want to go down on the floor again. Finally today we realized what she wanted - she wants us to check her out as well, and gve her some medicine like all her friends in the house got. That was no problem at all - Marie filled water in a syrringe and I examined Ellie´s eyes and ears before I gave her the "medicine". As soon as I have finished, she jumped down to the floor

Tonight Ellie wanted to go to sleep in our bedroom before we handled the cats, but as soon as she heared us giving the cats medicine, she started to cry and I let her out of the bedroom again. She jumped up on the table again, and she got the same treatment as this morning. And after that she was happy and wanted to play. This sweet, charming and smart little girl! I just love her so!

Tonight Ellie and the cats had some chicken, and Lion-O and Jagara sounded like large lions! But no one noticed them at all, everybody was occupied with eating as much as possible at the shortest time possible. I suspect the chicken to be some kind of a drug, because after the meal all our cats looked like this

Jagara is watching over the other kittens

The boys have their best pillow ever!

Today I have sent some E-mails to both breeders and veterinarians and asked them about informations about Herpes. Even if we have several weeks in front of us with medication of the cats, I would like to try to find out what would be the best solution for the cats and us. We do want to continue breeding, but we will do it in the safest way possible. I guess that most people would be scared from buying a cat and/or a kitten from us since we have informed about our situation. Hopefully I will be able to get real facts about Herpes and how to prevent that the other cats would be infected of it, and maybe I will be able to inform in a way that makes people feel as safe as possible regarding buying a cat or a kitten from us in the future. We intend to make a library on our website where we will put some information about Herpes, other deseases and useful stuff for breeders and cat lovers. That´s the intension, it remains to see how it will turn out.
